SIXTEEN (JYPE): Where Are They Now?

In 2015, JYPE aired SIXTEEN, a survival show where sixteen female JYPE trainees competed to debut in the resulting group of the show, TWICE. Nayeon, Jungyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu won the show and debuted, but where are the other trainees now?

Minyoung (10th Place)

– After SIXTEEN, Minyoung left JYPE.
– On October 19, 2021, she debuted as a soloist under the stage name myssong.

Somi (11th Place)

– In 2016, she competed on Produce 101. She ranked first place, earning her place as a member of the resulting group, IOI.
– After IOI promotions ended, Somi appeared in variety shows such as Unnie’s Slam Dunk and Idol Operation Drama Team. Through these shows, she debuted as a member of the temporary groups they created, Unnies and Girls Next Door, respectively.
– In August 2018, Somi left JYPE and signed with The Black Label, a subsidiary of YGE.
– She debuted as a soloist on June 13, 2019 and is still active currently.

Natty (12th Place)

– In 2017, Natty left JYPE and joined MNET survival show Idol School. She placed 13th and did not debut in the resulting group.
– In April 2020, she joined Swing Entertainment and debuted as a soloist on May 7.
– In July 2022, after a long hiatus as a soloist, it was announced Natty had signed with S2 Entertainment. One year later, she debuted as a member of their first girl group, KISS OF LIFE, which is currently still active.

Chaeryeong (13th Place)

– In 2017, Chaeryeong competed on the JYPE survival show Stray Kids as part of the girls’ team, 2Team. The girls did not debut.
– She debuted as a member of ITZY in February 2019. The group is currently still active.
She is the only SIXTEEN contestant who didn’t debut with TWICE that is still under JYPE.

Jiwon (14th Place)

– In 2017, Jiwon joined MNET survival show Idol School. She placed 6th and debuted as a member of the resulting group, fromis_9. The group is still active today.

– In 2017, Eunsuh left JYPE and joined MNET survival show Idol School. She placed 14th and did not debut in the resulting group.
– She currently seems to be a trainee still.

Chaeyeon (16th Place)

– In 2016, Chaeyeon left JYPE and became a trainee under WM Entertainment.
– In 2018, She competed MNET survival show Produce 48. She placed 12th and became a member of the resulting group, IZ*ONE.
– After IZ*ONE’s promotions ended, she participated in Street Woman Fighter. She was eliminated at rank 7th.
– On September 7, 2022, Chaeyeon debuted as a soloist and is currently still active.
